Two engines and at least four cars went off the tracks about 2:30 a.m. near Shellman in Randolph County northwest of Albany, said Lauren Peduzzi, a spokeswoman with the National Transportation Safety Board.
Initial reports indicated that a collapsing trestle may have caused the derailment of the 20-car train, she said.
The identities of the two employees were not released. County coroner Ben Lunsford said the injured man was taken to Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center in Cuthbert.
