ATLANTA - An updated version of the autobiography of the '60s radical once known as H. Rap Brown will be released in April, the Chicago Review Press announced Thursday.
The man now known as Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin is on trial for murder in Atlanta in the shooting death of a Fulton County deputy on March 16, 2000.

``Die Nigger Die!'', which was first published by Lawrence Hill Books in 1969, went through seven printings. It will stay the same except for a new foreword written by Ekwueme Michael Thelwell.

The foreword is critical of Al-Amin's confinement since his arrest and also mentions Al-Amin's transformation from H. Rap Brown to a Muslim cleric.

``As of this writing, Imam Al-Amin has been ... incarcerated under conditions which seem unnecessarily draconian,'' Thelwell wrote. ``In solitary confinement, he was for a time deprived of his Holy Quran.''
Jury selection for the trial is under way. The trial is expected to last two months.
