Some 3,600 pounds of sausage products voluntarily recalled

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - Tennessee-based Jimmy Dean Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling approximately 3,600 pounds of frozen pork sausage products. <br>

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Safety Inspection Service announced Thursday in Washington that the products contain undeclared monosodium glutamate. <br>
<br>
Some persons who have eaten foods containing MSG have reported adverse reactions, the agency said. <br>
<br>
The products were distributed to food service establishments in North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, South Carolina, New York, Georgia and Minnesota. <br>
<br>
The products being recalled are 12-pound bulk cases of ``Jimmy Dean Maple Flavored Pork Sausage Links.'' The cases each bear a production code ''3139-1,'' ''3209-1,'' ''3289-1'' or ''1120-2,'' along with the establishment code ``EST.8080'' inside the USDA seal of inspection. <br>

The products were produced last Dec. 13, Dec. 20, Dec. 28 and Jan. 12. <br>

Jimmy Dean Foods is based in Newbern, Tenn. <br>

The USDA said the company discovered and reported the matter.
