TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA - Clemson's Tony Stockman started it. But Florida State's defense finished it.
After giving up 20 first-half points to Clemson's Tony Stockman, Florida State clamped down in the second half Thursday to take a 68-63 win against the Tigers.
The Seminoles held Clemson to 28 percent shooting after halftime and limited Stockman to two free throws. Florida State also used clutch shooting by Monte Cummings, Antwuan Dixon and Delvon Arrington as it overcame a 10-point second half deficit to win its fifth home game in a row.
``They really picked it up defensively,'' Clemson coach Larry Shyatt said.

Cummings scored 17 points and Dixon added 15, including 10 in the second half, to lead the Seminoles. Cummings, Dixon and Arrington scored all of Florida State's points during a 14-2 run that put it ahead.
Cummings hit a baseline jumper with 5:02 left to tie the game 60-60, and Arrington followed with a layup to give the Seminoles the lead. Florida State (10-7, 3-3 ACC) never trailed again.
Stockman led Clemson (11-9, 2-5 ACC) with 22 points, including scoring the Tigers' first eight points of the game. But he only took four shots in the second half and did not make any.
Florida State coach Steve Robinson credited reserve guard J.D. Bracy for slowing Stockman late in the first half. Before that, Stockman hit six 3-point shots.

``He was having his way,'' Robinson said. ``He was scoring on any and everybody.''
Arrington added 11 points and Michael Joiner scored 10 for Florida State, which topped its win total of nine last season. Jamar McKnight scored 13 for Clemson, which lost its fourth game in a row.
Clemson led by as many as 12 points in the first half before a late Seminoles run narrowed the margin. The Tigers led 41-37 at halftime and then scored the first six points of the second half.
