ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia defensive back Brandon Williams, suspended after being accused of attempted rape, will be allowed to return to the team's offseason conditioning program next week.
"I regard the allegations that are still pending as serious, and his status could change depending upon information that develops during the continuing investigation," football coach Mark Richt said Monday.
Williams and Georgia basketball players Steve Thomas and Tony Cole were suspended Jan. 16, as university police investigated a report that a female student was raped in a dormitory.
Thomas and Cole were reinstated to the basketball team last week.
