New state troopers at Gainesville post

GAINESVILLE - Four new state troopers began operating out of the Gainesville State Patrol post Monday.

Three graduated last week from trooper school and the fourth was transferred from another post, according to Jim Shulter, spokesman for the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

The additions bring the number of troopers stationed in Gainesville to 15.

The State Patrol would like to have 18 here. More radio operators also are needed.
