Marta Board to vote on route and schedule cuts

ATLANTA - The board for MARTA meets today to vote on cuts for the transportation system.

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority is trying to pull itself out of a multi (m) million dollar deficit.

The board is expected to cut eight daily routes and 13 weekend routes.

The system will consider cutting fewer routes than originally proposed after hundreds of people protested plans to cut several bus routes on Atlanta's northside and dramatically reduce weekend service.
