ATLANTA - A man charged in his wife's murder five years ago, expected to be released on bond Tuesday, may not be freed just yet.
A Fulton County judge granted the $100,000 bond Monday for Jim Watson. He's charged with murder in the slaying of his wife -- Beverley Watson.
Jim Watson's family thought they only needed to come up with ten percent of that amount to get him freed, but it turns out the family needs to come up with the full amount, plus ten percent or $110,000.
So far, they've not been able to do so.
The judge cited Watson's longtime ties to his Fayetteville community and a clean criminal record to justify the bond. But prosecutors say Watson stalked a detective investigating his wife's death and tried to intimidate the detective's wife and daughter.
The murder trial could begin in June.
