ATLANTA - A 16-year-old is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital after Atlanta police shot him in the buttocks following a police chase. <br>

The chase began around 2 a.m. Wednesday in Cobb County and ended in East Point. Police believe the car the teen-ager was driving had been stolen. <br>

The chase ended when the suspect wrecked the car off Lakewood Freeway. A Georgia State Patrol car aiding police in the chase also crashed into a telephone pole. <br>
<br>
Authorities have not released the name of the suspect. They say police fired at him after he fled when his car wrecked. <br>
