Georgians Elliott, White named to 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame class
CHARLOTTE, NC - Two Georgia speedsters scored victories on Wednesday, but neither were anywhere near a race track. Dawsonville's Bill Elliott and Fayetteville's Rex White will lead the class of 2015 into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

GA Racing HOF member Wilbur Rakestraw passes away
Georgia Racing Hall of Famer Wilbur Rakestraw passed away Wednesday, May 7 of congestive heart failure. Rakestraw, of Dallas, GA, was born on June 6, 1928.
Rakestraw came from a family of racers. He began his career at the Dallas Speed Bowl piloting a 1937 Ford. Rakestraw would remain a longtime Ford loyalist, often racing cars with the number 999, in honor of Henry Ford
