Hall County juvenile found safe

A juvenile missing out of Gainesville was located safely in Cuthbert Thursday.

A lookout for Hailey Grimsley was issued on June 30. She had last been seen at a home in Gainesville. It was believed she was with a man, later identified as Anthony Bernard Powers, 29, of Cuthbert, according to Lt. Scott Ware with the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

"Hall County Sheriff's Investigators worked closely with Grimsely's mother and followed leads, which led to the identity of the unknown male with whom she was believed to be in the company of," said Ware.

"On July 6, Hall County investigators working with Athens-Clarke County took Powers in to custody without incident in Athens," Ware said. Powers was charged with interfering with child custody.

Ware said the next day, Grimsley was located in Cuthbert and returned to Hall County.

"He's from Cuthbert, and she was subsequently located at a relative's house, I believe, in Cuthbert," Ware said.

Ware said the investigation is ongoing and he could release no further information.
