Authorities arrest suspect in Gwinnett County apartment complex shooting

The suspect behind an early-May homicide in Gwinnett County has turned himself into authorities.

Gwinnett County Police say 19-year old Raheem Whiteside of Dacula is in custody for the May 4 shooting death of 20-year old Timothy Henderson during an apparent robbery at a Herrington Road apartment complex where Henderson lived in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Detectives are charging Whiteside with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of Felonies.

Gwinnett Police Homicide detectives have identified the victim and suspect in the Saturday shooting at the Herrington Mill Apartments in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Timothy Henderson, 20, of Lawrenceville, was identified as the victim.

Henderson was a resident of the apartment complex where he was shot and killed. 

The killing was a result of a robbery that took place just before the incident, detectives determined. 

Raheem Whiteside, 19, of Dacula, has been identified as the shooter in the case.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Whiteside for Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Felonies.

Whiteside’s location is currently unknown.

One man is dead following a shooting in Gwinnett County on Saturday night.

The shooting happened at 1564 Herrington Rd at Herrington Mill Apartments in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett Police Department Homicide Unit recieved the intial call of the incident just before 10:30 p.m. 

GCPD have identified a suspect and are working to locate them.  

The cause of the shooting has not been released.
