By Logan Landers Anchor/Reporter

Two Forsyth County students recently won the 2024 Storm Drain Art Contest which was put on by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful and the Forsyth County Department of Water & Sewer.

 The contest winners are:
- Emma Arnett (West Forsyth High School)
- Aditri Thakur (South Forsyth Middle School)

The contest called for students to submit original artwork that educates about water quality and enhances the theme “Only Rain Goes Down the Drain.”

Arnett & Thakur painted their creations on designated storm drains outside of their respective schools.

They received $100 dollars in compensation for their work and certificates of recognition.

“We all play an important role in keeping our waterways clear of litter, yard clippings and chemicals,”said Forsyth County Manager of Environmental Programs Tammy Keaton. “Our talented contest winners  are not only painting a storm drain but also beautifying our community as they help educate residents about watershed health.”
