GAINESVILLE — A Suwanee man has been arrested in Hall County, accused of running a gambling operation and selling synthetic marijuana out of a convenience store in Gainesville.
Agents with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said they arrested Imroze Ramzan Ali Mohammad, 43, on Friday, June 12 at the Shell station on West Ridge Road at Highway 129.
The investigation began after agents said they received reports that cash payouts were being made from the video poker games inside the store.
Agents said they seized in excess of $13,000 US currency, as well as 31 packages of synthetic marijuana.
Mohammad was charged with keeping a place of gambling and possession of synthetic cannabinoid with the intent to distribute; he also was placed under an immigration hold.
