Gainesville resident arrested for selling $56K of meth to undercover agents

By B.J. Williams
GAINESVILLE - A man thought to be an illegal immigrant was arrested Tuesday for selling methamphetamine to undercover Hall County drug agents.

Lt. Scott Ware with Hall County's Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said undercover agents made two separate buys from Victor Hugo Mendiola-Saucedo, 27 .

"The two quantities which were recovered totaled approximately 20 ounces - or 1.25 pounds," said Ware. "That had a street value of approximately $56,000."

Ware said after the suspect was arrested, authorities searched his home at 4423 Green Hill Road and found more meth.

Ware said it is possible more arrests could be made in the case, although he would not elaborate on details.

In addition to the two counts each of trafficking methamphetamine and sale of methamphetamine, Mendiola-Saucedo had an immigration hold placed on him.

He remains in the Hall County Jail.
