GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville man was arrested last week on drug charges for the second time this month.

Lt. Scott Ware of the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS), says Jacquez Jamaine Lipscomb, 22, was arrested during a raid Thursday at #27 Dean Street.  He is charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Synthetic Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute and Obstruction of an Officer.

"Agents conducted a search of Lipscomb’s residence which is a duplex apartment located at #27 Dean Street," Lt. Ware said.  "Upon arrival of MANS Agents, Lipscomb fled on foot. Lipscomb was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit."

Ware added that a search of the residence yielded four sets of scales, less than one ounce of marijuana and five packages of synthetic marijuana. "Each package of Synthetic Marijuana contained approximately 10 grams of the drug," Ware said.

The street value of the drugs seized was estimated "in excess of $2,000."

Ware said at the time of his arrest Lipscomb was free on bond for a separate case, made by MANS Agents on June 9, where he was arrested at the same location and charged with Theft by Receiving (Stolen Firearm), Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Synthetic Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute.
