More arrests made in death of Pickens Co. woman

JASPER - Three people have now been arrested in connection with the death of a Pickens County woman whose body was found dumped near an abandoned trailer earlier this month.

According to Fox 5 News, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office has arrested Darleen V. George, 51, of Cartersville and Dustin Cox, 25, of Canton. Both are charged with reckless conduct and possession of methamphetamine following the death of 20-year-old Taylor Smith.

Marty Gaddis, 38, already faces charges in connection with Smith's suspicious death. He is charged with concealing a death, abandoning a body, evidence tampering, reckless conduct and making a false statement. Gaddis also faces drug charges.

The victim's mother has spoken with Atlanta media, and she said her daughter suffered and asthma attack and when her friends couldn't revive her, they abandoned the young woman near an old trailer on Rose Lane in Jasper.

Investigators have not yet released and exact cause of death for Smith, saying they are waiting on toxicology report from the GBI crime lab.
