Two arrests in Flowery Branch area burglaries

HALL COUNTY - A watchful neighbor helped investigators find two people who may be responsible for two Flowery Branch burglaries and a car theft in Canton.

Tommy Ray Woodruff, 28, of Flowery Branch was charged with 2 counts of burglary, theft by receiving of a motor vehicle, possession of firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony.

Haley Pye, 26, of Canton has been charged with 2 counts of burglary.

Investigators said at approximately 1:00 p.m. Tuesday a neighbor on Steeple Chase Lane reported to Hall County dispatch suspicious activity around a nearby residence. The neighbor reported the suspects entering a garage and removing a riding lawn mower. A vehicle description was obtained and relayed to deputies in the area.

The vehicle was seen on nearby Cash Road where deputies sealed off the area in attempt to contain the suspect. Deputies located the vehicle with the stolen riding mower abandoned behind a residence on Cash Road. The occupants of the vehicle were located in the area a short time later. During the investigation, it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Canton, Georgia.

Investigators have been able to link the pair to one other burglary on nearby Union Church Road. Currently, investigators are working with surrounding law enforcement agencies in attempt to solve more thefts and burglaries inside their jurisdictions. More charges are pending.
