By by Ken Stanford
BRASELTON - The historic school bell, which rang for students and townspeople in Braselton from 1920-1957, is now located in a promiment place in town followng an unveiling recently.

The bell is under a gazebo on the grounds of the Braselton Town Hall.

The bell, commissioned by Senator Frank Duncan, was originally located in the bell tower of the Braselton High School. When the school closed in 1957, it was returend to Duncan's family who later donated it to the town.

"It's a beautiful bell and a significant part of the town's history," said Graham, "and we're especially pleased that local citizens and businesses donated the gazebo."

Twelve scomozzi-capped columns, identical to the columns of the early 20th century town hall, undergird the gazebo roof and a cast bronze historical marker now grace the grounds of town hall on Georgia Highway 53.
