BUFORD - Gwinnett County Police have identified the victim of a deadly weekend shooting in Buford as 20-year-old Brenda Melody Harrell of Buford. But, investigators are still trying to sort out what happened.
30-year-old Larry Ray Bowling, also of Buford, told police he accidentally shot Harrell while she was driving the van they were in.
Spokesman Dan Huggins says police were called when the van left the road and hit a house on Bona Allen Road.
Huggins said Bowling has been charged with aggravated assault pending further investigation and that the charges could be upgraded.
