JUPITER, Fla. -- Mike Hampton is back on track to open the season in the Atlanta Braves' rotation. Hampton allowed a run and two hits over 4 1/3 innings in a 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. The left-hander's encouraging performance came 10 days after he had to leave a start with a slight right groin pull.

Burton steals win at Bristol
BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Stuck in fourth with just two laps to go at a track he'd never conquered, Jeff Burton was ready to concede victory. Then teammate Kevin Harvick bumped into Tony Stewart, sending both cars sliding and opening a hole for Burton to squeeze through. It was the break Burton needed, and it put him in position to win Sunday's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
