Softball's 2014 title team recognized with ring ceremony on Sunday
Members of the 2014 Piedmont College softball team were on hand during halftime of Sunday's Lady Lion basketball win over Huntingdon College to receive their championship rings after having claimed last season's USA South title.

The Piedmont College softball team will have to wait until Mother Nature cooperates to start the 2015 season as icy weather in Georgia has forced the season opening doubleheader with Wesleyan College set for Tuesda and Thursday's home opener with Agnes Scott to be postponed.

Dogs hire former player to coach RBs; McClendon takes over WRs
University of Georgia running backs coach Bryan McClendon will move to coach wide receivers, the position he played, according to an announcement Monday by UGA head coach Mark Richt. Richt also announced former UGA running back Thomas Brown, who coached Heisman Trophy runner-up Melvin Gordon at Wisconsin this past season, has been named the new running backs coach.

Brenau swimming claims conference championship
The No. 5 nationally-ranked Brenau University Golden Tigers swimming team captured the Appalachian Swimming Conference title, and Brenau head swim coach Blair Bachman won conference coach-of-the-year honors for the fourth time consecutively on Saturday in Christiansburg, Va.

The Piedmont College women's basketball team took care of visiting Huntingdon College earlier today in Cave Arena winning 79-77 for another USA South win, their 11th of the season and 18th overall.

The Piedmont College men's basketball team rose to the occasion in the final conference home game of the season taking down the Huntingdon Hawks 75-62.

Piedmont baseball edges LaGrange in nail-biter
The Piedmont College baseball team pulled out a nail-biting victory tonight with a 3-2 victory over LaGrange College. The Lions battled from behind as they did on Friday, and the win would seal the series in favor of the boys from Demorest with Piedmont edging out the Panthers two games to one.

School-record falls at Tiger Indoor Invitational
The Piedmont College men's track and field team hit the road for its second competition of the indoor season as they traveled to Sewanee: the University of the South for the Tiger Indoor Invitational on Saturday. Cody Parker set his second school record of the season as he ran 4:58.90 in the men's 1 mile.
