Sundiata Gaines scored 15 points and all 12 Georgia players scored as the Bulldogs cruised to a 90-56 victory over Clayton State in an exhibition game Friday night.

The University of Tennessee has dismissed sophomore tailback LaMarcus Coker for undisclosed reasons. Head coach Phillip Fulmer had suspended Coker from one game for a violation of team rules, but said after further investigation he decided to dismiss the player.

North Carolina is back in its familiar pre-season spot atop the AP basketball poll. For the sixth time since The Associated Press started a pre-season college basketball poll in 1961.
