Home matchups against five of the six other Southeastern Conference basketball teams that advanced to postseason play last season headline the Georgia Bulldogs' 2016-17 conference schedule, which was announced Tuesday by the league office.

University of North Georgia freshman Olivia Dumphy was named the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Lion soccer team wrapped up the opening weekend of tournament play, facing tournament host No. 5 Centre College in a 1-0 loss to the Colonels. Centre scored the lone goal of the contest in the 50th minute, securing the shutout victory and moving to 3-0 overall.

The Piedmont men's soccer team hit the road for the first time in 2016, losing a close contest to Guilford College, 4-2 in Greensboro, N.C.
