Hall County Elections

The Hall County Board of Elections Wednesday released the wording that will be on the ballot next month for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum. In addition, plans for a series of presentations dealing with the referendum were also announced.

Voter turnout in Georgia for Tuesday's General Election was nearly 50 percent and it topped 50 percent in Hall County.

Republican Gov. Nathan Deal and his Democratic challenger Jason Carter both promised a clear win on Tuesday if their supporters get to the polls.

There will be few contested local races on the ballots that greet northeast Georgia voters Tuesday but a number of them will contain SPLOST, alcohol sales, or bond referendums.

With just over a week left for early voting in Georgia, more than 206,000 ballots have been cast statewide, more than 4,000 of them in Hall County.

Early voting begins Monday in Georgia for the Nov. 4 general election.

The deadline is quickly approaching for Georgia voters to register for the upcoming general election.

A number of groups will be registering voters around the state this weekend, with the deadline to register for the November elections just around the corner.
