When the powers that be decided a few years back that this season's Super Bowl would be played in an open-air stadium in a cold climate, I applauded the move because I still believe all football should be played outdoors, regardless of the weather - and I began dreaming of a white Super Bowl. But now that Feb. 2 is fast-approaching, the NFL is apparently getting, shall we say, "cold" feet.

BE READY AND SMART: TAX SEASON IS ABOUT HERE
Many taxpayers just file the short form (no itemized deductions, extra income from various sources such as stocks, bonds, rentals, etc). This may or may not be the smart thing. Others with the aforementioned types of income always file the long form and take all the deductions, etc. A surprising number rotate: one year long form, the next short form.

One of the things I did as talk intensified leading up to the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy was get in the attic and find the newspapers I had saved from that day and the three that followed.
