History-making football team recognized
A little over 50 years ago - in the days of segregation - a group of young men at Gainesville's all-black Fair Street High School clinched the state high school football championship two years in a row... the only such championship in the history of Hall County. And, Monday night, the teams were officially recognized by the Gainesville School System.
