The opening day of the girls NE Georgia Mountains Cup tournament saw defending champion Buford fall and a wild shootout between Chestatee and Stephens County Saturday at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex.

Saturday's baseball game between Georgia Tech and Boston College was postponed due to rain in the Atlanta area. The two teams will instead play a doubleheader Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.
