CLEMSON, S.C. -- Two years after reaching the College World Series, the Clemson Tigers are struggling to stay competitive in the Atlantic Coast Conference after suffering their worst losing streak since the Black Sox scandal of 1919.

ATHENS -- Georgia junior catcher Bryce Massanari became a father on Thursday and drove in the go-ahead run Friday to help the fifth-ranked Bulldogs to a 5-4 win over No. 25 Ole Miss at Foley Field.

Tim Hudson pitched his 11th career shutout and Brian McCann hit a two-run homer, helping Atlanta end a season-high four-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Cincinnati on Friday night.

WATKINSVILLE -- Having already set the school record in wins and surpassed last year's playoff run, the Flowery Branch girls soccer team was looking to add to the program's best season ever Wednesday night in the second round of the Class AAA playoffs.

ATLANTA -- After pulling up at Philips Arena in his white Hummer H2, Mike Bibby strolled past an admiring security guard, who wished him luck through the rest of the playoffs. The lovefest is occurring all over Atlanta after the Hawks evened their best-of-seven first round series against the Boston Celtics Monday night.

WASHINGTON -- Atlanta pitcher John Smoltz went on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with an ailing right shoulder, though the Braves were told he can get over the problem without surgery.
