If Flowery Branch girls softball coach Valerie Lancaster had any lingering doubts about whether her Lady Falcons were ready to contend for the Region 7-AAA title in 2008, they were erased Thursday afternoon.

The combination of Megan Rogers and Brittany Smith were too much for Gainesville Wednesday night against North Hall in Region 7-AAA girls softball action. Rogers struck out 12 and allowed just one hit while Smith went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI to lead the Lady Trojans to a 9-1 win in six innings.
