The West Hall boys tennis team dropped just one set in taking a 5-0 win over West Forsyth Thursday in a Region 7B-AAA match played at Bobby Bailey Tennis Center.

West Forsyth pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of 10 walks from Chestatee pitchers to take a 13-6 win over the War eagles in Region 7-AAA baseball action.

White County took advantage of five Flowery Branch errors en route to an 11-5 win over the Falcons Thursday in Region 7-AAA action. The win for the Warriors moved them into a four-way tie with Flowery Branch, North Hall, and Gainesville atop the region standings.

Zach Bennett hit two home runs, including a grand slam in the first inning, to propel Gainesville to an 11-2 win over Lumpkin County Thursday in Region 7-AAA baseball action.

Tennessee came up short of a Southeastern Conference double, and the Volunteers may have to do without a top seed in the NCAA tournament. Steven Hill hit a turnaround jumper with 5.3 seconds remaining for his only points of the game and Arkansas knocked off fourth-ranked Tennessee 92-91 Saturday night in the semifinals of the SEC tournament.
