East Hall high school junior Tyler Brown set American Powerlifting Committee state and national records in the squat and bench press for his age group and weight class on his way to two State Championship plaques in the Bench-Only and Full-Power classifications Saturday.

Harper throws 2 TDs in Clemson's spring game
Clemson's Cullen Harper, who led the Atlantic Coast Conference last season in passing efficiency, completed 13 of 18 passes for 142 yards while playing just the first half. Harper's Orange squad defeated the White squad, 16-7, in the Tigers' annual spring football game Saturday.

No. 24 Virginia rallies past Maryland
Trailing by four runs in the fifth inning, the Virginia baseball team staged its largest rally of the season and scored nine unanswered runs, including six in the eighth, to defeat Maryland 11-6 Friday night at Shipley Field.
