East Hall advanced to the second round of the girls Region 8-Tournament with a 69-18 thumping of East Jackson Monday night at the Elbert County gym.

Area 8-AAA grabbed five No. 1 seeds at the Class AAA North Sectionals at Locust Grove High School Saturday in preparation for next week's state meet.

The Johnson boys advanced to the Region 8-AAA tournament with a 59-57 win over Lanier Saturday night in the Region 8B-AAA play-in game.
