Softball: Jefferson falls to East Jackson in 8B-AA

By staff reports
COMMERCE -- Jefferson's three-game winning streak came to an end in a 4-1 loss to East Jackson Thursday in a key Region 8B-AA game.

Despite the loss, the Lady Dragons remained in third place in the subregion, 1 1/2 games behind North Oconee with two regular season games left, including one against the Class AA ninth-ranked Lady Titans on Tuesday in Watkinsville.

Jefferson took a quick lead with one run in the first but North Oconee answered with a run in the bottom of the first and then took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth.

The Lady Dragons had chances late in the game getting the tying run to the plate in the sixth and seventh innings but could not score.
