A Gainesville man was arrested Tuesday in Hall County following an investigation into a child molestation case.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office said in a press release Jason Carter Berry, 18, is accused of sexually assaulting a female victim who was under the age of 12. The crimes reportedly happened on Sept. 3 at a location in north Hall County.

A family member of the victim reported the crime to law enforcement.

Berry was charged with three counts of sexual battery on a child under the age of 16 and child molestation. All of the charges were felonies.

He remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of early Wednesday afternoon.

Berry was previously arrested on similar charges in December 2022. In that case, Berry was charged with one count of rape and one count of child molestation in relation to an August 2022 incident. The Hall County Sheriff's Office previously told AccessWDUN Berry raped a female victim who was under the age of 16 at her home.
