A Norcross man was recently arrested in connection with the shooting death of a Lawrenceville man in Norcross on April 28.
According to an updated press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, Xavier Jones, 22, of Norcross was arrested in Cobb County and is being held at the Cobb County Jail on unrelated charges.
Jones is accused in the shooting death of Jerrett Mitchell, 22. He also allegedly shot and injured another man during the incident shortly after 6 p.m. in the 1300 block of Indian Trail Road.
Mitchell was found dead in the doorway of a restaurant in the area, while the other man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Jones was charged with felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
