Woman killed in early morning Banks Co. wreck

A woman died in an early morning single vehicle accident in Banks County Wednesday.

According to Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols, crews with Banks County Fire and EMS responded to the scene of the accident at Yonah Homer Road and Hill Street just before 3 a.m. They found a vehicle upside down in a small stream.

One woman was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A young boy who was also in the vehicle was not injured.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol and the Banks County Coroner's Office.
