Communities across North Georgia spread holiday cheer with parades, tree lightings, special events

If you're looking for some Christmas spirit, you'll find it in most every community in North Georgia!

Thursday, December 6

NEGMC-Braselton Love Light Tree Lighting
Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Braselton Campus
7 p.m.
Join NEGMC as they celebrate and remember those who are no longer with us this holiday season with the lighting of the Love Light Tree. 100 percent of all donations benefit Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

 

Friday, December 7

Baldwin Christmas Tree Lighting

Mitchell Gailey Park, Baldwin
6:30 p.m.
Join the City of Baldwin for caroling, cookies, hot coffee and cocoa, the lighting of the tree and a visit from Santa.

Christmas in the Park
Oakwood City Park
5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Ring in the holidays with a live musical performance, train rides, photos with Santa, marshmallow roasting and other treats and crafts for kids. Free admission.

Night of Worship at Riverbend Baptist Church
1715 Cleveland Highway, Gainesville
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for coffee, hot chocolate and cider. The music begins at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary

Family Days: Victorian Christmas

Northeast Georgia History Center, Gainesville
1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Photos with Santa Claus, living history demonstrations, hands-on activities, special musical and storytelling performances and seasonal refreshments make this one of most special events of the year! Presented as part of the Ada Mae Ivester Education Center. Admission is free.

 

Monday, December 10

NEGMC-Winder Love Light Tree Lighting
Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Winder Campus
7 p.m.
Join NEGMC as they celebrate and remember those who are no longer with us this holiday season with the lighting of the Love Light Tree. 100 percent of all donations benefit Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
 

Saturday, December 15

Habersham County Christmas Parade
Downtown Cornelia
10 a.m.
The annual Habersham County Christmas Parade has special meaning this year, since the county is celebrating its 200th anniversary. Following the parade down Main Street, the festivities move to the Cornelia Community House for a Bicentennial Birthday Party from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.

*St. Paul United Methodist Church Christmas Cantata
404 Washington Street, Gainesville 
Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.
“Morning Star: Celebrating the Everlasting Light of Christmas” by Lloyd Larson will be presented in the church sanctuary. The community is invited to attend either performance.
