Sugar Hill approves luxury apartment complex in downtown area

A new luxury apartment complex is coming to a 26.2-acre site near the city's downtown area.

360 Residential LLC is going to build a 302-unit apartment complex between Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Level Creek Road, a project that will feature direct access to the Sugar Loop Greenway, a multi-use trail that will, upon completion, form a roughly 15-mile loop around the city, said Paul Radford, city manager.

"[The property] will have three different uses. 360 Residential will be building the multi-family [housing] development, the apartment component of it. The materials...it's got a very urban look to it. It's very walkable for the residents," said Radford.

The remaining eight acres of land will be developed into a townhome community and commercial property, though different companies will handle those projects.

As for the apartment complex, plans call for an additional road connecting Level Creek Road and Spring Hill Drive, along with a second access road off of Peachtree Industrial that will connect to the first new road.

The complex itself will feature eight mid-rise buildings, plus amenities like walking trails, a fire pit terrace and a pool.

Sugar Hill City Council approved the item at its meeting on Tuesday.
