The Enota Masters Builders Lego Robotics Team has advanced to state competition after winning awards at the regional and super-regional levels in the FIRST LEGO League robotic competitions.
Enota teachers Audrey Thornton and Sarah Pollard served as team leaders and retired educator Dawn Watkins served as the team's consultant.
"Enota Master Builders earned the Champion's Award at Creekland Regional and the Project Award and Robot Performance Award at the Delta Community Credit Union Gwinnett Super Regional." said Thornton. "We will be presenting our Poultry Truck Sterilization Garage to the Poultry Federation on January 26th and will then compete at State Competition at Georgia Gwinnett College on February 3rd."
The team was required to develop and research a project centered around a real world problem, create a solution utilizing a robot designed by the team, and then present the project at competition. Judging was based on the robot's success as well as the team's demonstration of "core values" in the project. The Master Builders developed a project on how to sanitize poultry trucks that are eco-friendly and that prevent contaminated runoff in Lake Lanier.
