Tennis: North Hall teams split with Stephens County

GAINESVILLE — The North Hall tennis teams split with Stephens County Monday in non-region action.

The Lady Trojans took a 5-0 win but the the North Hall boys fell 3-2 in a tight match.

For the girls, they did not drop a single game winning all five matches 6-0, 6-0. Anna Montgomery, Lauren Davis, and Christen Barnes took singles wins.

The doubles teams of Annalise Gregory and Sydney Patterson and Carsen Baumgardner and Raquel Kallab got big wins as well.

The North Hall girls are now 10-4 overall with nine shutout wins. They are 5-0 in Region 7-AAA play.

In the boys match, Stephens County swept the singles matches, including a come-from-behind win at the No. 2 spot. Christian Boychuk lost 6-0, 6-0 to Ben Smith at No. 1, Kody Dills could not hold on after winning the first set falling 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 to Brayden Shiflet at No. 2, and Ethan Surles lost 6-2,6-3 to Carsen Keener at No. 3 singles.

The Trojans got their two wins in doubles with Daniel Martin and Shawn Wallhausen defeating Troy Broska and Ryan Roach 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and Adam Turcotte and Jackson Roush beating Levi Dodd and Andrew Burtt 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.

The North Hall boys fell to 8-6 overall.

Both North Hall teams will travel to Oconee County on Tuesday.
