MACON — There's a whole lot of history northeast Georgia teams will be wrestling with beginning on Thursday when the 2017 Traditional State finals get under way at the Macon Centreplex.
Can Jefferson add to its ongoing state record of 16 straight state titles, this time in Class AAAA? Will Commerce be able to win its fourth straight Class A championship? Can Buford push all 14 wrestlers to podium finishes in Class AAAAA?
Or, will teams like West Hall, which already made history sending a program-record seven wrestlers to the Class AAAA finals, find a way to make even more statements.
Nearly two dozen area programs had 106 individual wrestlers qualify for the finals. The action begins at 1 p.m. Thursday with Classes AAAA and AAAAA.
