Gwinnett County woman kills 1 home invader, has gun battle with 2nd suspect

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. (AP) Police say a woman grabbed her gun and shot and killed a man who kicked in the front door of her home in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett County police say the woman told police she was awakened by the sounds of people breaking into her home shortly before 4 a.m. Friday. They said she shot one man in the torso, killing him.

Police say the woman also engaged with a gun battle with at least one of the surviving suspects as they fled the home.

Police say no charges are expected against the homeowner.

Investigators were still working to determine the identity of the surviving suspects.

Police did not immediately release the name of the person killed or the woman.
