By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

BUFORD - One person was killed after a crash involving a motorcycle on Buford Dam Road in Buford Saturday morning.

Coporal Jake Smith with the Gwinnett County Police Department said the motorcycle was trailing two vehicles when the leading pickup truck started making a left turn and the middle car slowed down. The motorcycle then passed the car and hit the driver side of the truck. The driver of the motorcycle, 68-year-old Thomas Gerald Aldridge of Dacula, was dead at the scene.

Smith said drugs or alcohol are not suspected causes and Aldridge was determined by investigators as the at-fault driver in the wreck.

The wreck occured at around 10:55 a.m. Saturday. No charges have been filed and Smith says the investigation is ongoing.
