Tennessee man arrested in Gainesville robbery

GAINESVILLE - A Tennessee man has been charged in the armed robbery of a Gainesville drug store.

Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said officers responded to a 911 call at 2 a.m. Friday at the CVS on Jesse Jewell Parkway.

Holbrook said the suspect approached a cashier and demanded money. The cashier complied, and the suspect left the scene.

Holbrook identified the suspect as 34-year-old Jason Phillip Bost, from Pulaski, Tennessee.

Holbrook said a taxi driver in the area witnessed part of the crime and was able to identity Bost's vehicle to authorities. He said Hall County deputies were on the scene within minutes, saw the suspect and pulled over his vehicle. Bost was taken in to custody without incident. He was charged with armed robbery.

Holbrook said investigators have not yet determined what - if any - Bost's connection to Gainesville might be.

Bost is currently being held in the Hall County jail.
