Gwinnett Co. man arrested for false calls, threats to 911

BUFORD - A Buford man was arrested Monday after he called 911 over a dozen times this month with false calls and threats.

33-year-old Aaron Tyler Norman was charged with making  false statement, terroristic threats, transmitting false alarm and three counts of requesting an ambulance when not required, according to a release from Gwinnett Police. Norman was also charged with burglary on an unrelated case.

Norman allegedly called emergency dispatch about 14 times between April 17 and April 25. The release shared some content from the calls, including "I got a (expletive) gun," "Mother (expletive) better get over to Marquis at Sugarloaf because somebody's about to get shot," claiming there was a bomb in the building, and requesting, on three occasions, an ambulance.

The investigator on the case was able to confirm Norman's voice on the 911 recordings through a source close to Norman.

Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera said Norman was staying with his mother at the Marquis at Sugarloaf Apartments are on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth and was later evicted. Norman was arrested at his father's home in Buford, though Pihera said she did not know if he was just staying there or living there.

Norman is currently incarcerated at the Gwinnett County Jail.
