Hall students among those awarded NGCF scholarships

GAINESVILLE - The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) recently awarded $177,950 in scholarships to north Georgia high school students pursuing higher education this fall.  Included are 22 students from schools and school systems based in Hall County.

The students, the schools they repesent and the individual scholarships are:

 

Chestatee

•              David J. Lawson, Patrick Michael Kelley Memorial Scholarship Fund, $2,500

•              Grace C. Brown, Florence and Jack Sims Memorial Scholarship Fund, $1,000

 

East Hall

•              Lauren Pope, Jim and Dee Snow Optimist  Scholarship Fund, $500; William T. Carlisle Memorial Scholarship Fund, $1,500

 

Flowery Branch

•              Gabrielle T. Pusha, Jenny Melton Scholarship Fund, $2,500

 

Gainesville

•              Davis B. Brown, Bill Wilson Scholarship Fund, $1,000; Jo Farr Scholarship Fund, $2,500; Tommy Aaron/Charlie Aaron Scholarship Fund, $2,500

•              Alicia A. Carstarphen, Lance Roland Memorial Scholarship Fund, $1,000; William T. Carlisle Memorial Scholarship Fund, $1,500

•              Creighton R. Knight, Myrtle W. Figueras Scholarship Fund, $500

•              Herminio Hernandez, Patrick Kelley Band Scholarship Fund, $1,000

•              Jazmin A. Penado, Bill Wilson Scholarship Fund, $1,000

•              Emilie E. Gille, Myrtle W. Figueras Scholarship Fund, $500

•              Anayely Moreno, Jody Tucker Memorial Scholarship Fund, $2,500

Lakeview

•              Rachel Cottrell, Kiwanis Club of Gainesville C. J. Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Fund, $2,500

 

North Hall

•              Laila Hasnain, Kiwanis Club of Gainesville C. J. Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Fund, $2,500

•              Grace Miller-Bell, Kiwanis Club of Gainesville C. J. Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Fund, $2,500, Kiwanis Club of Gainesville C. J. Thurmond Youth Art Scholarship Fund, $1,500

•              Morgan E. Land, Holcomb Family Education Scholarship, $1,000

•              Emily Barnes, Chuck Massey Memorial Scholarship Fund, $500; David Wright Davenport Scholarship Fund, $250; Gail Ingram Scholarship Fund, $1,000

 

West Hall

•              Maria E. Mata, Jenny Melton Scholarship Fund, $2,500

•              Haven K. Clippinger, Flo Townson Scholarship Fund, $500

 

In total, the North Georgia Community Foundation awarded 105 scholarships from 29 scholarship funds established at the Foundation.

“These scholarship funds make a difference in students’ lives across our region,” North Georgia Community Foundation President Jim Mathis said. “Our donors know when they create a scholarship fund they are investing in the future of these students and the future of our communities.”
