GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville's Street Maintenance Division is operating on a 24-hour schedule for the next 48 hours as the city braces for the second round of this week's expected winter storm punch.<br />

"We are handling problems as we become aware of them so the gravel/salt mixture is as effective as possible," Public Works Director David Dockery said early Tuesday afternoon. "We expect to have additional trouble spots later tonight. No particularly bad areas had been reported as of noon today."<br />
