Girls basketball: Lady War Eagles knock off Pickens in OT

JASPER -- The Chestatee girls basketball team closed out the regular season on a high note on Wednesday, edging out Pickens 69-66 in overtime in Jasper.

The Lady War Eagles (20-5) outscored Pickens 21-10 in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 60-60.

Maegan Kenimer paced Chestatee with 15 points, while Katie Arthur added 14 points. Sam Brown also scored 11, while Bridgette Kelly chipped in with nine.

Chestatee will start play in the Region 8-AAAA tournament on Monday at Johnson.
