Dogs' Green held out of La.-Lafayette game

ATHENS -- Already without starting running back Washuan Easley, Georgia found out about 90 minutes before kickoff against Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday that starting wide receiver A.J. Green also would not be playing.

The Georgia Sports Information Department issued a statement syaing, "University of Georgia junior wide receiver A.J. Green will miss Saturday's game against the University of Louisiana (Lafayette) pursuant to UGA Athletic Association policy and ending a ruling from the NCAA clarifying his status."

Alec Ogletree, a backup strong safety, also was suspended one game for being arrested for theft by taking. Former Habersham Central standout Tavaris King also was suspended one game for violating team rules during the off-season.
